Step-motor or pulse valves controlled by a controller using sensors — more precise, but the diagnosis path is different.
An EEV does the same job as a TXV but is driven by a controller reading sensors. Diagnosis shifts from bulb and charge to sensors, controller and the valve driver.
Diagnosis
- Check sensor placement and accuracy
- Check controller outputs and alarms
- Check the valve driver and step motor
- Superheat is still the key reading
